Vacation timeeeee!! I’ve literally been waiting all year long to have a piña colada in one hand while laying on a beautiful beach, and forgetting all of my responsibilities! Even though that’s what I told myself I’d do to be honest, on the first day I looked at work emails for a bit. But than I snapped out of it turned off my work phone and shoved it far away in my suitcase. I had planned this trip for so long and I needed to enjoy every minute of it. This year I chose to go to Cancun in Mexico; we stayed at a really nice hotel the Krystal Grand. It’s the down season in Cancun so they weren’t a lot of people, we actually got the ocean view without having to pay extra. Thats when you know there aren’t a lot of people staying at the hotel. It was nice to be disconnected from the world, well I was partially disconnected there is wifi all around the resort so I still looked at social media and interacted with friends lol.
Apart from enjoying the beach, the unlimited amount of food and drinks, we also got to see some Mayan ruins in Tulum, a Dolphin show, visited an Aquarium ( which I have to say was a bit underwhelming, I expected to see sharks or something, that aquarium has nothing on the Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto). We also tried fish tank therapy- which was sooo uncomfortable and felt weird but my feet felt A-M-A-Z-I-N-G afterwards. Who knew that fishes eating your dead skin was the way to go? I low key don’t know if that’s right and it’s not like animal cruelty cause that’s kinda gross lolOne one of the best part of the trip was going to Coco Bongo, which is a club that has performances throughout the night, and on top of that it was open bar…what more can you ask for 😉
-Posing in the streets of Cancun before spending all my pesos–
–A few pictures of the hotel and surroundings-
– They had Mayan performers that did a tribute to their culture and rituals –
– Visited an archéologique site of Mayan ruins in Tulum –
The vacation overall was amazing, Cancun is beautiful, people are great, always offering tequila shots 🙂 And I know this was a tourist zone so the reality of what Mexico is really like might not have been accurate but overall it was still a great experience and a place I’d like to go back to.
